đź› DRC Project Approval Reminder
Thinking about updating your home this season?
Please remember: All exterior updates and improvements require prior approval from the Development Review Committee (DRC). This includes—but isn’t limited to—landscaping, docks, fences, paint colors, and patios.
If you’re unsure whether your project needs approval, reach out to the DRC to avoid delays or costly rework.

🧑‍🔧 Lake Manager Update
Nick is no longer serving as Lake Manager. The HOA is currently interviewing candidates for his replacement, and we expect to provide a full update in early May. Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure the right leadership is in place to care for the lake and support community needs.
🚨 Lake Patrol Update
After a formal proposal, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office declined to move forward with a lake patrol contract. The decision came after the Douglas County Board cited liability as their primary concern. The HOA is now exploring alternative patrol and safety enforcement options.
Why Lake Patrol Remains a Priority
The HOA’s decision to pursue lake patrol options was not made lightly or suddenly. Over the past few years, the Board has explored a range of solutions in response to increasing concerns about lake safety — including self-reporting, private patrol options, community surveys, and consultation with other lake associations.
Engaging the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was one of several thoughtful steps taken after repeated concerns from residents. While the agreement ultimately wasn’t approved by the county board due to liability concerns, we want to assure the community this was part of a broader, proactive effort — not a reactive move. We’ll continue working toward safe, respectful, and enjoyable lake access for everyone.
âš“ Buoy Placement
We’re currently between lake managers, so we kindly ask for your patience as buoy positioning is finalized. Safety markers will be placed as soon as possible, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding during this transition.
🎣 Carp Removal – Round 2
A second carp removal effort will take place in late May. Please be respectful of workers and avoid lake activity during that time. This is part of our ongoing lake health strategy.
🌳 Tree Replacement & Grounds Cleanup
Beginning mid-to-late May, crews will:
Remove and replace 50 trees, starting at the impacted area of the SE entrance
Grind stumps and clean up affected areas
The Board is planning to move forward with the final 50 tree replacements this fall. We’re currently waiting for our 6-month CDs to mature before those funds become available, and will plan accordingly. In the event of an emergency, we would access the funds in those CDs if necessary.
